Celebrate 200 years of RNLI
On Monday 4th March 2024, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) celebrates 200 years of saving lives at sea, with thanks to volunteers giving their time to save others.
On this day, the charity turns 200, the RNLI is revealing its volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguardshave saved an incrdible 146,277 lives during the two centuries of lifesaving.
Since the charity was founded in 1824, the volunteer crews have launched :
launched the lifeboats 380,328 times
saved 144,277 lives
responded to 303,030 water incidents
