Cold Water Shock

Cold water shock is dangerous!  

Water temperatures below 15°C are considered cold water and they can be seriously dangerous and affect your breathing and movement.

It is important to note that the risk is significant all year round!!

Cold water shock makes the blood vessels in the skin close, which increases the resistance of blood flow and heart rate is increased.

Remember if you enter the water uenxpectedly:

  • Relax and take a minute.
  • Float to live
  • Keep calm

Remember to plan your water activity:

  • Check the conditions before you venture in to the water
  • Invest in a quality wetsuit with appropriate thickness
  • Wear a floatation device suitable for your activity
